Burndown Chart Beginner A simple chart of work remaining over time, used to see whether a sprint or release is on track. Burnup Chart Practitioner A chart with two lines, work completed and total scope, that shows progress and scope changes clearly. Change Failure Rate Practitioner The percentage of changes to production that cause a failure needing a fix, rollback or hotfix. Cost of Delay Practitioner The value lost for every week a piece of work isn't delivered, used to decide what to do first. Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD) Practitioner A stacked chart showing how many items are in each workflow state over time, revealing bottlenecks at a glance. Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) Practitioner A simple survey score showing how satisfied customers are with a product, feature or interaction. Defect Density Practitioner The number of defects relative to the size of the software, used to compare quality across releases or components. Deployment Frequency Practitioner How often a team successfully deploys code to production. DORA Metrics Practitioner Four research-backed measures of software delivery performance: two for speed, two for stability. Earned Value Management (EVM) Practitioner A traditional project control method comparing planned value, earned value and actual cost, sometimes adapted for agile. Escaped Defects Practitioner Bugs found after release, by users or in production, rather than by the team before shipping. Flow Efficiency Practitioner The share of total lead time that work is actively being worked on, rather than waiting. Lead Time Practitioner The total time from a request being made to it being delivered to the customer. Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR) Practitioner The average time it takes to restore service after a production failure. Net Promoter Score (NPS) Practitioner A loyalty measure based on one question: how likely are you to recommend us, from 0 to 10? Queue Length Practitioner How many items are waiting before a step in the workflow; long queues mean long waits. Return on Investment (ROI) Practitioner The financial return of a piece of work compared with its cost. Team Happiness Index Practitioner A simple, regular check of how team members feel about their work, used as an early warning signal. Throughput Practitioner The number of work items a team finishes in a given period, such as per week. Value Stream Metrics Practitioner Measures of how value flows from idea to customer across a whole value stream, not just one team. Velocity Beginner How much work a team finishes per sprint, used to forecast how much it can take on next. Work In Progress (WIP) Practitioner The number of items started but not yet finished; too much of it is the root of slow delivery.
